School can also be fun: a teacher will make you feel good

When was the last time you spontaneously jumped at work just to dance a bit? Scot Pankey, a teacher at A. Maceo Smith's New Tech High School in Dallas, does just that in a video that just puts you in a good mood. First he sits bored at the desk, before he suddenly stands up and dances to "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars with his students through the hallways.

The choreography is so perfect that you could almost think of it as a clip from "Glee" or "High School Musical" - only that instead of professional dancers normal teenagers are seen. A video that suddenly spreads such a good mood, of course, quickly become a network phenomenon: over nine million people have now looked at the clip, it will probably be added several million.

In other schools you learn to play recorder in music lessons - how did the dance video come about? Pankey discovered the song shortly after Christmas and thought: That would be something for the six theater groups that I look after at the school! "We're a project-based school," Pankey told the Dallas Morning News. "That means giving the students a project, dividing them into teams - and then they need to figure out how to do it - they had three weeks to do that and then had to showcase what they learned as a group." Pankey also offered to join in when his theater groups let him, even though he is not a dancer. For us a clear case: Even visibly popular teachers sometimes need to fish for compliments with the students, it's okay.

The practice paid off: not only the students in the picture dance amazingly professionally, behind the camera two teenagers filmed the complete song in a long take, which with its fast camera shots could also be by "Gravity" director Alfonso Cuarón.

Nice but as the great response from the net is a compliment from this gentleman who knows the song very well:
