Mike Singer: "It would be nice to have a woman by my side"

With his new single "Bon Voyage" pop star Mike Singer (19) agrees to his new album "Trip", which will be released on April 26th. In an interview with the news agency spot on news, he reveals why the video shoot has taken him to the US and how it relates to his relationship status.

You recently celebrated your 19th birthday. Belated best wishes. Was there a big party, now that you are in Germany?

Mike Singer: I used to celebrate small, with the closest friends and family. But it was still a cool party, it was fun.

The video for your new single "Bon Voyage" was filmed in Los Angeles and for the song "Taub" you traveled extra to Las Vegas. What attracts you to America?

Singer: America is the coolest place for me. I feel very comfortable there. The best part is the Californian sun. It just looks great in the camera.

In "Bon Voyage" the second stanza indicates the relationship to a woman. Is this lady also in your real life?

Singer: I'm still single. But I am no longer a child. I am now 19 years old and of course getting more and more mature and older, women also play a big role in my life.

Can you even imagine a real relationship with a woman in your lifestyle?

Singer: Definitely! It would be nice to have a woman by my side. But I'm not looking for someone specifically. If it comes, then it will come easy.

In "Bon Voyage" is also the line "still heart palpitations when Mama comes to the concert" before. Are you still excited about your performances?

Singer: When my mom comes to a concert with the family, I'm very excited. Then I really want everything to be perfect.

They grew up in Offenburg. Which childhood memories did you particularly influence?

Singer: My dad used to be a DJ and we only had one computer in my room back then. He often came in and downloaded music and mixed the songs. At some point I wanted to know how it works. My parents then gave me a piano and I taught myself how to play.

Is there a lucky charm that you always carry with you?

Singer: I always have my necklace, which I got from my grandmother. I'm always worried that I'll lose it if I jump. But nothing has happened yet.

They got around a lot. Is there anyway a country that you really want to visit?

Singer: I've seen a lot of the world, but I really want to go to Dubai. I was never there. Lately, I've seen a lot of pictures of the country and now I'm very interested.
