Makeup: Which color type am I?

Do you know the 9-type typology developed by make-up artist Beatrix Isabel Lied? It distinguishes after pigmentation of hair, eyebrows, eyes and skin. In addition to the tonal value (light, medium and dark), the "temperature" of the skin, eyes and hair is taken into account (warm, warm-cold and cold). This results in nine different types, which are completely different colors. So you can easily find out which make-up suits you - and which colors you should rather keep your hands off.

The color of the hair and eyebrows ranges from a light red blond to a flax blond to a light golden brown, usually with a reddish glow. The eyes are light blue, turquoise, light green or have a very light golden brown tone. The very light skin ranges from light brass to light beige. It can also be slightly rosy with freckles. This type of pigmentation is very rare worldwide and often found in Ireland.

The significant feature of this color type are the golden-blonde hair and eyebrows: they have neither a clearly warm orange tone nor a cool ash character. The eye color moves between light blue, turquoise, light green, light brown or gray brown. The skin has a light beige to beige hue, but may also be rosy.

The medium-warm-cold color type has either pigmentation carriers of the cold and the warm direction (for example, warm eyes and eyebrows, but cool hair and skin tone) or none of the four pigment carriers (eyes, eyebrows, hair, skin) is extremely warm or cold. The hair colors are in the range of Mittelgoldblond, light or medium brown. The eyes are brown-green, blue-gray brown or green brown-gray. The skin has a beige hue.

The hair and eyebrows are very dark and intense colors. The eyes also have a very rich color value: the spectrum ranges from an intense brown over olive green to green brown. The skin has a warm olive copper or bronze tone - it is also heavily pigmented ungrounded. This color type is frequently represented in the Indian, Arab and African regions.

The typical for this color type are the intense brown or green eyes. Together with the cool properties of hair and skin, they make the mixture dark-warm-cold. The color of hair and eyebrows ranges from dark brown to black. The skin is either very light and cool and gives a warm-cold picture with the brown eyes. But it can also have a warmer bronzed character, which with the cooler black-brown eyes and black hair is the decisive factor for this color type. However, all four pigment carriers (hair, eyebrows, skin and eye color) can be completely cold again, still quite warm. Even so, this average shade of dark-warm-cold properties.

This type of pigmentation stands out due to its distinct contrasts: hair and eyebrows have a distinctively cool tone, ranging from dark brown to black. The eyes are intense blue, gray-blue, gray-green or dark gray. They form a strong contrast to the dark hair and sometimes even the white in the eye appears slightly bluish. The skin may be light beige to slightly rosy. But it can also be very heavily pigmented and have a slightly blue-black touch.
