Jewelery Trends: So delicate, so special, so delicate

We pick up loud statement chains for the summer. Now delicate jewelry pieces are booming. But they are also a statement. The special thing about the trend: It gives classic jewelery a new twist. Rings are now worn over the middle finger bone, earrings not only on the earlobe, but along the entire pinnate margin, bangles use elbows and bangles as a natural "stopper".

Incidentally, the beautiful fine filigree rings on the picture above were designed by the fine jewelery designer Lara Melchior for the Swedish fashion house & Other Stories (around 25 euros). Her conviction: "Jewelery should not steal its wearer's show, but emphasize its beauty".

Granted, this chain is not filigree. But the pearls still give her a delicate appearance, which goes absolutely well with the elegant Chanel look. Incidentally, the name of this piece of jewelery sounds far more threatening than it is: "To choke" means as much as strangle - and of course the good piece does not want that. A chain of choker is simply very close to the neck and developed already in the 15th century to the fashion phenomenon, which has since been revived in many variations. In the 90s, if we made sure to grab the velvet or leather strap, we would like to have a more futuristic look in 2014. Karl Lagerfeld staged oversized bead choker for Chanel, meanwhile, more and more high-street labels are catching up.

For example, Zara with this choker necklace made of zinc and acrylic.

In the field of clothing has been a trend theme for some seasons, embellish cut outs (in German about: recesses, cutouts) now also jewelry. Finely crafted bangles like here on the catwalk at Maxime Simoens speak for themselves, so the rest of the outfit may like to hold back discreetly in black, white or camel shades.

At the presentation of his spring collection, Marios Schwab reinterpreted the classic bangle and assigned it to his place above the elbow. Perfect for those who are reluctant to wear disturbing jewelery on their wrists.

Knuckle Rings

If you like it, then you should put a ring on it! And the classic finger ring has gotten a little brother: The Knuckle Ring (also called Midiring), sits over the knuckle and is now available in a variety of variations. Very simple, decorated with rhinestones, in a heart, star or bow shape. A trend that is being followed by more and more designers: Versace and Zadig & Voltaire both equipped their models at the Fashion Weeks with Knuckle Rings. By the way, we especially like this copy of Sara Weinstock.

helix

Helix piercings (Helix is the outline of the auricle) we know from the nineties. And since the fashion is experiencing a 90ies revival these days, the little hoop earrings will not be long in coming. Again, the focus is on filigree pieces of jewelery, which were decorated with rhinestones or small charms.

If you do not want to be stung, grab the Ear Cuff or Ear Brace - an ear clip that is simply pinned to the outermost ear edge. It gets even fancier in combination with an ear stud, which sits down in the earlobe hole and is connected by a narrow chain with the Ear Cuff.

Roberto Cavalli relies on the more opulent version, but there are also much more delicate handcrafted designs. The principle works in a similar way to the Ear Cuff: a chain links the bracelet and finger ring to emphasize the back of the hand. A way to decorate, which evokes memories of the traditional Indian henna painting.

Vibe Harsløf goes one step further and has designed gold-tone fine jewelery for sneakers, which are incorporated into the laces. Golden times when the world lies at our feet.
