Jacket in pear pattern: A guide to knitting
Instructions for a jacket in pear pattern in sizes M / XL
Material: 600/800 g of gray wool, wear 7, quality "Pacolana" (47% virgin wool, 23% alpaca wool, 30% polyamide, run length 135 m / 50 g) from Schulana, knitting needles No. 5,5 and 6.
Note: It is possible that the given wool can not be bought anymore. In this case, you are looking for a similar quality. Please note the specified run length and do a stitch test!
Federal pattern (BM): With needle no. 5.5. 1st round: 2 sts left, 2 sts to the right. 2nd R: Knit the sts as they appear. Always repeat the 2nd R
Smooth right (GL): With needle no. 5.5. Rowing right, back rows left.
Pear pattern (PM): Needle No. 6. 1st row: 2 sts on right, 2 sts on left. 2. R and all back orders: Knit the sts as they appear. 3rd R: Like the 1st R 5th round: 2 sts left, 2 sts to the right. 7. R: Same as the 5th round. Repeat 1st to 8th Rs.
Knitting tension: Knitted in SM gives 17 M x 26 R = 10 x 10 cm.
Back: Cast on 88/104 sts and knit between 2 edge stitches in BM 5 cm, continue in PM. For armholes bind off 52 cm from BM on both sides 3 sts and then remove in each 2nd row 1x2 and 4x1 st = 70/86 sts. For neckline cut off the middle 20/24 sts at an armhole height of 22/24 cm and both sides Bind off in the following 2nd row 1x4 sts. Cast off at the same time for the shoulders at an armhole height of 22 cm 3x7 / 2x9 sts in every 2nd row.
Left front: Cast on 40/48 sts and knit 5 cm between 2 edge stiches in BM, continue in PM. Knit 26 cm from BM for the front pocket flap on the front 3 sts, then work over the next 20/26 sts on the front, cast on sts on both sides and knit 2 cm in sts, cast off sts. Cast on 26/32 sts for the pocket bag and knit 11 cm on the right side, then cast off 3 sts = 20/26 sts on both sides, place the pocket bag in the front piece and knit in the PM over every 40/48 sts. Bind off at the cut edge 48 cm from the waistband 10x / 12x 1 st in every 6th row. Knit the armholes at the right edge as in the back. The shoulder stitches as at the back oblique.
Right front: Knit the same way as the left front piece.
Sleeve: Cast on 48/56 sts each and knit 5 cm between 2 edge stiches in BM, continue in PM. For the arm bevel, on each side increase 7x1 sts in each 12th round = 62/70 sts. Bind off 39 cm from BM for the ball on both sides 1x3 sts and then in each 2nd row 1x2 and 4x1 sts, then in every 4th row 2x2 Take off M, then in every other row remove R 6x1, 1x2 and 1x3 sts until a ball height of 16 cm is reached, bind off the remaining sts.
Left collar half: Cast on 164/176 sts and knit 11 cm in BM. Cast off the first 94 sts at the front = 68/82 sts. Cast off every other row 9x4 / 10x4 sts, then cast off the remaining 34/42 sts.
Right collar half: Knit the same way to the left collar half.
Belt: Cast on 14 sts and work 180 cm in BM.
