Gwyneth Paltrow: Relationship of tartar marked by abuse

In the 1990s and 2000s Gwyneth Paltrow (45, "Iron Man") was one of the biggest stars of Harvey Weinstein (66). In an interview with the "New York Times Magazine" she now talks about her relationship with the fallen film mogul, who is alleged to have sexually committed herself to dozens of women. "This time, when Harvey gave me a clear offer, it was the least of what it was like to be tough," says Paltrow.

Generous but evil

Earlier, the actress told radio host Howard Stern (64) that Weinstein had once tried to become overbearing in a hotel room. Their then friend Brad Pitt (54) had then asked the producer to the speech. After that, Weinstein did not approach her, but the working relationship between the two remained bumpy. Again, Paltrow confirms that the relationship has always been based on consideration and penalties.

"I have always felt like on thin ice," Paltrow continues. Weinstein could therefore be "truly hideous and evil", but then suddenly also "incredibly generous" give: "It was like in a classic abusive relationship."

The divorce

Also, her divorce from Coldplay singer Chris Martin (41) addresses the actress in the interview. At the time, Paltrow had spoken of "conscious uncoupling" and found that many people took it as if she thought she was better - even in her divorce. In truth, she had wanted to say that she and Martin felt much pain in the collapse of their marriage and just wanted to try another way of separation.

Paltrow simply could not have anticipated at the time how it would affect the public. At that time she had to realize that any "carelessness with language" is perceived differently from her mouth, as with someone else.
