Gosh! These stores are all part of H & M?

H & M is great for the fast-paced consumerism: cool design at the lowest prices and with its 450 branches in Germany almost to find on every corner of the inner cities.

But even if you reject H & M for some reason, it is very likely that you still buy from time to time at the Swedish fashion giants.

These brands are all part of the group

  • cos - timeless, higher-quality classics and basics
  • Monki - young mix of Scandinavian and Asian design
  • & Other Stories - Shopping temples for more demanding women
  • Weekday - young and urban
  • Cheap Monday - jeans-heavy streetwear

New brand "Arket" starts in summer

In the late summer of 2017, another H & M brand will be launched: Arket. The new store concept is to offer own fashion and home accessories for women, men and children. Arket means translated "sheet of paper" and sets similar to Cos on higher-priced, timeless design. New Move: Cafes with Nordic cuisine are being integrated into the stores for the first time.

The first store to open in late summer in London? Shops in Munich, Copenhagen and Brussels should follow quickly.

Who or what is behind H & M?

Did you know that "Hennes" is not a name at all, but in Swedish "for her" or "hers?" Because the first shop, which opened in 1947 in Västerås, Sweden, sold exclusively women's clothing.

The addition "Mauritz" came only in 1968 - Mauritz Widforss was one Hunting clothes dealerwhich Hennes bought up. Only now there was also menswear in the assortment, and the group, which was soon to conquer the world, called itself from then on "Hennes & Mauritz". Today, the Group operates with all brands more than 4400 branches in 65 countries.
