Tim Allen: In the movie he wanted to shoot Santa

That would have been a nice gift: In his movie "Santa Clause" from the year 1994 Tim Allen (65) is the replacement Santa Claus. As the "Listen, who's hammering" star now but in Jimmy Fallon (44) "Tonight Show" tells, the Christmas comedy should have looked very different. The original script was "a little darker," as Allen laughs: "I actually shot Santa in the original." Allen's character had thought that it was a burglar.

That's why it did not happen

There was only one problem: The then Disney Board Jeffrey Katzenberg (67) did not want to play. "Well, we can not start a movie that way," Katzenberg said back then. Allen then "Why not?" asked. "We can not start a Disney movie about how you kill Santa," was his response.

Allen also played in the two sequels of the film again. He was not really suitable for that at all. "I'm literally the last guy in the world to play Santa because I do not really like kids," he joked. Allen has two daughters: Katherine (29) and Elizabeth (9). Katherine comes from Allen's marriage to his ex-wife Laura Deibel (62), he has Elizabeth together with his wife Jane Hajduk (52), with whom he has been married since 2006.

Tim Allen hates kids and wanted to shoot Santa Claus (May 2024).
