The attack on star chef Immo Haferkamp (Thomas Heinze) does not go as planned: Not he, but an intern is killed. The "strong team" quickly realizes that there are a large number of people around the owner of the restaurant who have an account with him. Haferkamp hires and fires his staff and humiliates it, including post chef Sarah Ebstein (Esther Zimmering). Solveig Karlsdóttir (Franka Potente) is a crime writer in Reykjavik. As she travels to visit her mother (Hildegard Schmahl) on the Westfjords, she discovers after a night of drinking the body of a childhood friend in the harbor basin of the small fishing village. Everything looks like a tragic accident, but Solveig can not believe in this all too easy solution. She begins to investigate on her own, unaware that it sets in motion a chain of catastrophic events, in the course of which there is another murder and Solveig's childhood sweetheart Binni (Felix Klare) comes under suspicion.
