Schüßler salts - what's that?

Schüßler salts go back to the homeopathic physician Wilhelm Heinrich Schüßler. In the 19th century he posed the thesis that diseases and disorders of the body are caused by a lack of minerals such as potassium or magnesium.

His "Biochemie nach Schüßler" represents a simplified variety of homeopathy: The number of remedies is limited to 12 mineral salts, also called functional agents. These are administered in a very low dosage similar to homeopathy and are intended to give the body the impulse to absorb and transport more of the mineral. After Schüßler's death, his theory was extended to include various so-called supplements.

Which methods do you use with Schüßler salts?

By facial analysis, the therapist determines which minerals the patient lacks. Schüßler salts are usually taken in tablet form, which are available in the homeopathic potencies D3, D6 and D12. Schüßler mineral ointments are applied to the skin and then covered with a bandage. Very well known is the "Hot Seven" against convulsive pain, in which Schüßler salt No. 7 is dissolved in hot water.

In which complaints are Schüßler salts used?

Schüssler salts are used for the treatment of acute and chronic diseases as well as to increase general well-being. It is promised help with everyday complaints such as skin problems, pain or tension, as well as emotional upsets such as nervousness or test anxiety.

How well are Schüßler salts scientifically proven?

The efficacy of Schüßler salts has not been sufficiently substantiated by scientific studies.

What are the limitations of Schüßler salts?

Since the tablets contain only the smallest traces of the active ingredients, an overdose is practically impossible. Side effects and interactions are unknown.
