Alexandra Maria Lara shows the new summer dresses

Alexandra Maria Lara in an interview

We talked to actress Alexandra Maria Lara about beautiful clothes, mom's clothes and her latest movie project. In "You Are Wanted" (since March 17th at Amazon Video) she plays the wife of Matthias Schweighöfer. When a power outage paralyzes Berlin, the horror begins for both of them: He becomes the victim of a hacker, receives questionable mails and orders. His wife imagines an alleged lover, the little son is threatened and the LKA chases him as a terrorist. To protect his family, save the marriage and not go insane, he has to find the hacker.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: Just 23 years around - you're taking pictures with us again.

Alexandra Maria Lara: It's true that I was booked 15 times for fashion productions of ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss. That was something very special for me then. I even made it to the cover picture once (laughs).

Unfortunately, the magazine is no longer available.

Yes, too bad. But fortunately, I still have some photos of it in my private collection. These were very sweet things that I had on.

Today it is flowing summer dresses, in which one could go out.

And each has its own charm. At the red I was not sure if the color would suit me. But it's just a statement. Clothes are wonderful. You can make a big transformation. In everyday life, I usually wear what's just for mothers: sweater and jeans.

Already then, you had been playing alongside the school in some movies, for the first time as an eleven-year-old in "With Love, Rita".

I almost inherited the profession. My father is an actor and was director of the National Theater in Bucharest. When I was four, my parents went to Berlin with me, where he later founded a drama school. He always advised and supported me on my way. After high school I did my training with him.

You are currently in the female lead role in "You are wanted", the first series of TV streaming service in Germany - a new experience?

Although the work on the set always follows a similar course both nationally and internationally, it was clear that we were breaking new ground here. It was a special and very nice experience.

Her film partner Matthias Schweighöfer is simultaneously producer, director and leading actor - that sounds like saving for the first time.

(laughs) That may be true, but in fact he is very good in each of these areas. I do not know how he does it, especially since he is very meticulous and precise about everything.

You have already played together more often, most recently in Wolfgang Petersen's remake of "Vier gegen die Bank".

Matthias has been a good friend for a long time and it is nice to be able to work with his friends. If there is already a connection, it is easier to play personal things to the point. Now, for the first time, I have worked under his direction and I have to say that he is also a fantastic director - one that you can even laugh about.

But "You Are Wanted" is not funny at all, but gets a lot more authentically annoying.

A captivating story, I'm glad you felt that way too.

Someone - or something? - hack into the life of a family through digital media, manipulating facts, sowing doubts, fueling fear of loss, helplessness ...

... and everyone can imagine that such a thing is possible today. And that idea is really scary.

Especially if, like you, you live with a man and a child much like the Franke family in the series.

Of course that helps to put oneself in the role. At 38 and as a mother of a three-year-old child, I can now draw on another wealth of experience - unlike, for example, when I first played the mother of a five-year-old at 21. And that's just one of the positive aspects of getting older (laughs).
