Adele clears four trophies - and supports colleague Kesha

To be honest, we had expected nothing else: at the Brit Awards in London, Adele was allowed four times to take a prize. The 27-year-old has been awarded Best British Artist, Best Album (25), Best Single (Hello), and Global Triumph.

But Adele would not be Adele if she did not use her performance to lose some serious words. "I would like to use this moment to publicly support Kesha," Adele said. Thus, she showed solidarity with the American pop singer Kesha, the producer. Luke reproaches sexual harassment and tries to acquit herself from her contract.

Background: Why Kesha sued her producer

At the beginning of 2014, when Kesha Rose Sebert was admitted to a clinic for bulimia, she gradually explained the background to her mental illness: her producer Lukasz Gottwald (known as Dr. Luke) had repeatedly drugged her to attack to pass her. He had harassed, raped and pressured her for more than ten years - including asking her to lose weight and comparing her figure to a refrigerator.

In autumn 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against Gottwald - even though she had no video footage, DNA evidence or eyewitnesses. Last week, the New York Supreme Court rejected a preliminary ruling. Kesha is still with Dr. Luke and Sony bound. The contract, which requires six more albums of her, was finally "negotiated in detail and industry typical," it said in the verdict.

Meanwhile, several fellow musicians have publicly commented on the subject. "I admire your courage," tweeted Lady Gaga - and posted a photo on Instagram. Under the hashtag #freekesha you can follow the discussion on Twitter.
