The Outsider: Stephen King's book becomes the HBO series

Only half a year after its release, it took a while before Stephen Kings' latest book "The Outsider" received a movie adaptation. More specifically, the novel was commissioned as a series by the broadcaster HBO and can already show well-known heads in front of and behind the camera, as the US-side "The Hollywood Reporter" reports.

So Jason Bateman (49, "Arrested Development") is already determined as director of the first two episodes, "Star Wars: Rogue One" villain Ben Mendelsohn (49) should hold one of the leading roles. Mendelsohn was often the first choice in Hollywood when it came to the occupation of a diabolical villain as possible. But television is not alien to him, for his role in "Bloodline" he won in 2016 an Emmy.

The horror novel "The Outsider" is about the bestial murder of a little boy. Main suspect is the blameless and popular teacher Terry Maitland. DNA traces prove him a safe killer - but Maitland has a watertight alibi. When the supernatural crime story will come on TV is not yet known.
