The Christmas party in the company: the great fun

The bosses

For the big bosses, the Christmas party is a tough test. Now they have to do what they luckily rarely do in everyday job life: mix with the people. The staff praise. Make small talk instead of announcements. Nevertheless, laugh. Most of them are doing pretty well, drinking beer, knocking jovially on their shoulders, saying: "Always great, such a party, eh, Schröder?" But as the hours go by, fear grows in her heart. For every minute they know about the terrible, the inescapable that evening still holds for them: they have to dance. Happy the hiring manager, the top manager, who still has a residual rhythm in the blood thanks to a wild party youth, but, indeed, there are few. And so you see from midnight sweaty executives twitching and snaking and Hüftweighing, and yes: everyone else is watching too. It does not help. It must be. It's human.

The party committee

There is no better company at a Christmas party than the men and women from the Orga team. No one really knows what she has ridden to take on a job that has been keeping her from her real duties in the core hours since mid-November. But one thing is clear: No one is so determined to find the evening as great as its organizers. The location? Sensational! The Controlling guys and their soul band "The Benchmark Brothers"? Insanity appearance! Sure, the party foremen are nervous, everything depends on making the right decisions, but their burden helps them with early spirited alcohol consumption. This cocktail of adrenalin and gin and tonic is absolutely thrilling. And from two o'clock in the morning, it does not matter if everything has stopped or crashed, it will be really funny. Because the festival committee has best contacts to the Tresenteam. And the guys behind the bar are just prettier than those from the controlling department.

The table

They are all a bit nervous when they enter the room. Unusual surroundings. People in festive plaster. Comic music. Short stuttering. But then the view falls on the table. Breathe. At the table everything is as always. As in the canteen. As at all Christmas parties before. No matter what happens today, security and stability prevail here. Seven people, constant occupation, completely started. The seven at the table have been looking forward to the Christmas party, but do not appreciate exaggerated excitement and exalted behavior. A glass of sparkling wine as a welcome? Gladly, but from half past eight is changed to non-alcoholic beer. The table talk takes the usual course, a wholesome blend of holiday anecdotes, food allergies and office gossip, movement arises only when going to the buffet. Colleagues, who advance to the table, are greeted in a friendly way, unfortunately there is no place left. Around 11 pm the round is canceled, the farewell is factual, tomorrow they will meet again, seven people, a table and cabbage rolls, which are always so delicious in the canteen.

The young things

It is well known that a Christmas party serves the team spirit. And no one, really no one, earns this human factor at such a corporate festival more than the hierarchically (yet!) Insignificant young things. They arrive early, they stay long, they wear short dresses and red lips, they put on Santa Claus caps and laugh about it mewly - that alone is a contribution that can not be estimated high enough for the success of a party. Crucial, however, is that the young things raise questions. For the women: "In which department do they work? When did I stop having fun? Do we need to network old people more closely?" For the men: "In which department are they working? Can I have fun with them? Am I too old to network with the hot blonde?" In the end, everyone won: The young things get attention, that's good for the career. The women move closer together, which is good for the mood. And the men can do what they are best at: compete.

The payers

Excessive drinking is an equally enjoyable and problematic phenomenon at Christmas parties. The one he loosens, which is absolutely welcome, others he puts out of action - well, that happens. On the other hand, it is more difficult for alcohol to promote aggression, which in some cases brings to light a side that its colleagues would rather not have known. Whoever walks through the festive hall with a beer in his hand, determined to finally say what has been said for a long time, will not have a nice job everyday for months. "Ulla, you have to be ripped off again" is not the sentence that the nice chief secretary wants to hear when she stands with the smart IT colleague at the bar.Supervisors, who sometimes did well with a few open words, unfortunately recognize drunken party troublemakers thanks to many years of experience at a distance of ten meters and take flight. Anyway, the woman who has something to say changes course, announces at the next bar table, who earns too much, whom she has never liked and who finally has to stop pulling a face from morning to night. After all, the health is beneficial, our wife will not touch a drop for a year, is not bad for the job performance - if she still has a job.

The splinter group

When the save-the-date email for the Christmas party pops up on the screens of all employees at the end of October, a sympathetic smile flits across the lips of a few. Then press the button. Clear. 20 years seniority. Everything had already, everything participated. Now it is good. Human, people. As if Christmas was not exhausting enough. As if it were not much more atmospheric with a handful of nice colleagues, who wants to hang around in the middle of the week in a crowd at a party. And it does not always have to take place in December, the year has eleven other months, which are also nice, there are the members of the splinter group agree. For five years now, her answer to the office Christmas party is asparagus. Very classic with ham and béchamel sauce and new potatoes. On the last Monday in May, 18.30 in the "Good Neuhof", the appointment is fixed every year, is already on the calendar. "May night celebration" is there, funny, the Katharina has thought of the sales. Children, that will be delicious again. And when the others are ready to celebrate, the splinters still have something to look forward to. The anticipation - that's always the best.
