Nude scandal: 3 exciters behind the red bar

Pretty and well built they are - these men who are currently stuck to Austria's advertising pillars. But the Viennese find the motive with the three footballers not good.

The Nackedeis were intended as an advertisement for the exhibition "naked men" in the Vienna Leopold Museum. But instead of positive reactions it hailed criticism. The Viennese were angered. For weeks it was discussed whether the naked Schniedel were not too pornographic. Some found the posters tasteless.

The indignation culminated in private censorship. The posters were torn and painted over. Ultimately, the museum surrendered and missed all the posters a red bar.

Nevertheless, those responsible for the action stand. "It was not a cheap marketing strategy, but of course we wanted to cause some excitement, and we believe that the naked truth is reasonable for people," said the commercial director, Peter Weinhäupl.

That's right, the three men are attractive specimens, the photo is aesthetic. In the 21st century, it should no longer be a problem to show such a motif in public. Of course, that does not have to be inflationary either. But now and then such an eye-catcher - why not?
