Messy and proud of it? 5 reasons to love your own chaos

Let's face it. How long have we been trying to be something we are not, neat? And now let's be a bit more honest: Is not that a bit like we do not really want to be that?

Ordinary people are really suspicious. Because behind chaos is neither laziness, nor missing insight, no, behind chaos is much more. And I do not want to miss everything:

1. Chaotic people are more creative

Do I want to be the one in which everyone whispers in amazement, because she sorted the shoes so neatly? Definitely not! When people come to my house, they find a cozy little mess. Only then I pass in, because I am a thinker. Incidentally, the best ideas actually come in messy rooms, which is even scientifically proven. The most tidy rooms at most encourage people to think in clichés. And hand on heart: I do not want to be like that.

2. Everyone should know that I have more important things to do

Nice for the others if they want to spend their lives cleaning up. If it's fun, let it be. But I do not do it. Everyone knows that, too. That it sometimes looks to me like Hempel's under the sofa so testifies to a healthy dose of self-love and that should all see. I do not force anyone to do things he does not like. Not even me. And that's good.

3. Feel like you're at home. Or better.

Whoever comes to me, he feels right at home. In my little chaos, you do not need to be ashamed of anything, no one walks reverently through my hallways or apologizes for brawn on the window. Given. Even for freaks, my house is an oasis. "I always feel so relaxed here as when I was 18," my girlfriend once said. If that's not a nice compliment ...

4. I am always and everywhere welcome

Wherever I go whenever I go, I can come in, stay and no one starts panicking to do away with the laundry. I know that I'm a welcome guest, because I'm straightforward and everyone knows: I would never think of anything bad.

5. The universe loves chaos

Is it a weakness to be messy? Perhaps. But the much greater weakness is not being able to endure disorder. That's just how the world just does not work. Have you ever tried to tell a blade of grass something about symmetry? Or to teach a toddler about a box cleanup system? Order love is a property, not a virtue. Who she has: Have fun with it. I do not have it. And that is completely ok.
