Maroon 5: No one wants to play with them at the Super Bowl

The Halftime Show at the Super Bowl is actually one of the most sought after appearances in the music industry. But next year everything seems different. After allegedly already Rihanna (30, "Diamonds") and Pink (39, "What About Us") should have rejected the appearance, now apparently looking for the remaining band Maroon 5 for other acts that deny the show with her. As Variety reported, the band is said to have requested half a dozen artists - without success.

The reason for the numerous rejections is not the group around singer Adam Levine (39). Rather, many artists protest against the treatment of quarterback Colin Kaepernick (31) by the NFL. In 2016 he dropped to his knees during the national anthem to demonstrate against police violence and discrimination. He was released from his club in 2017 and not signed by any new club. Whether Maroon 5 will actually perform at the Halftime Show has not yet been officially confirmed.
