Mariah Carey and Co .: The charts are still in Christmas mood
Music fans like to hear festive songs at Christmas. This is also shown by the Official German Single Charts, as GfK Entertainment has determined. Because in the Top Five are three Christmas classics to find: In second place "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey, in third place "Last Christmas" by Wham! and in fifth place "Driving Home For Christmas" by Chris Rea.
Overall, there is a record-breaking rush of Christmas songs on the charts this year. 54 holiday songs made it into the top 100 - in 2017 it was "only" 39 titles. The only German-language Christmas carol comes from Rolf Zuckowski and his friends: "In the Christmas bakery" ranked 54th By the way, the chart throne grabs by rapper Capital Bra (24) with "Benzema". His eighth number one hit within a few months!
The album charts are in German hands
While Christmas fever prevails in the single charts, German artists have the album charts under control. At the top is Udo Lindenberg with his record "MTV Unplugged 2 - Live from the Atlantic". Silver goes to "turmoil" by Herbert Grönemeyer and bronze secures Mark Forster with "love". AnnenMayKantereit with "Drop Shadow" and "The Platinum Collection - Greatest Hits I, II & III" by Queen make the Top Five complete.
