Make silk scarf yourself

MATERIAL

  • Silk (30 cm at 150 cm width)
  • French chalk
  • triangle ruler
  • Matching sewing thread
  • fabric scissors
  • sewing machine
  • sewing needle
  • Iron

HOW TO DO IT

  1. Cut a 26 cm wide strip from the entire fabric width. Place the strip in the break right to right on the entire length.

  2. Chamfer the ends: To do this, draw a line starting from the breaking edge, starting at a 45 ° angle to both edges with the Geodreieck and Schneiderkreide. Then cut the slope on this line. The strip is still in the entire length right to right in the break.

  3. Sew all cut edges - starting at one bevel and ending at the other - sewing together at 1 cm, leaving an approx. 8 cm long opening on the straight stretch to turn (!). Cut back the seam allowances at the tips.

  4. Turn the strip to the right through the opening, iron out the edges exactly, iron the cut edges of the opening inwards. Sew up the opening by hand
