Liv Tyler - the better beautician?

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: You once said that your dream is to open a spa and personally offer facials there. That was just a joke, right?

Liv Tyler: Not at all. I'm often asked what I'd like to do, apart from actors and modeling, and that's my answer. Simply to have a place where women can get together to do some sports, pamper and beautify. As a girl, I was more of a boyish person, always with broken knees, not a girly-girl at all. But my mother and grandmother were very feminine women. And I loved to watch her in front of the mirror during her daily beauty ritual. Therefore, I had a lot of beauty tricks in stock at the age of twelve, which I then showed my girlfriends. And that's still fun for me today. When my best friend Victoria is visiting, complaining, "Oh, my skin," I put her in the bathroom, make her a mask, and even punch out her pimples. , ,

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: Really?

Liv Tyler:. , , and treat her entire face. And I do not know why, but mostly it even helps.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: Most of the time, though, you're the one whose face will be treated so to speak, after all you're the Givenchy cosmetics and perfume promotional icon. What kind of relationship do you have with the man who always makes you up? It's quite a private act when someone comes so close to you again and again. , ,

Liv Tyler: Yes, that's right, it's pretty intimate. I've been working with Nicolas Degennes, Givenchy's make-up artist, for six years now. However, I only see him about four or five times a year. He is very friendly and has a tremendous empathy for women. I think that's an incredible quality in a man. This is not a superficial beauty thing with him. You can tell that he loves women - real women, not just models.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: It is said that you also like to share beauty tips with your dad. What does Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler have in store for tricks?

Liv Tyler: I once said that my dad and I used facial masks together. Since then, the journalists keep asking me about it because they want me to talk about my father. But of course I learned all about beauty from my mother. Although my father actually cares for his skin very carefully and well. He looks great, do not you think? And that, without ever having done anything about it!

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: Not only your dad is a rock star, you too can sing very well. But apart from a small passage in the movie "Jersey Girl" you do not do it. Much less talented fellow actors record an album, why not you?

Liv Tyler: I just recorded a duet with my friend Evan Dando. , ,

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde:. , , the singer of the American indie band The Lemonheads. , ,

Liv Tyler: Yeah, we played together in a movie, "Heavy"; I've been there since 16. He's been one of my best friends ever since. He has now recorded a cover song album ("Varshons", released in June), and he has asked Kate Moss and me if we do not want to sing a duet with him each time. That's why I'm singing a Leonard Cohen song with him on the record. That was fun. But I do not know, a whole album? I love acting very much. Most of all, I would like to make a musical, a movie in which I can sing and dance.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: You started modeling at the age of 14, but switched to acting very quickly. The movie critics were not all nice to you at the beginning. Did you sometimes have the feeling that beauty can also be a burden?

Liv Tyler: I have never felt so special. When I started working, I was a teenager. If I felt anything then it was uncertain because I was so tall. At the age of 11, 12, I was almost as tall as I am now (that's 1.78 meters). The boys in my class reached to my chest to the maximum, and I was not their crush at all. I felt very inhibited and much wanted to be small like other women. When I got older, I finally accepted it and even found it fun to wear high heels. But I never got rid of the small complex. I still feel most beautiful when I am in a group and I do not stand out. But you actually asked me about acting. Well, no one says to me, you look too good to play this role. You may say: you do not have the right look. But that's no big deal, I would never let that discourage me.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: You have played in very different films: There were the blockbusters "Hulk", "Armageddon" and "Lord of the Rings", but in between, again and again small films on a low budget. How do you choose your roles? Is there any strategy you are following?

Liv Tyler: No, I have no fixed plan. I know some girls are great at playing in romantic comedies, for example, so that it becomes their trademark. But it does not work for me. I have to say, I do not live in California among movie stars, I've always had to deal only with musicians. They record a record very hard, go on tour, and then they come home and retire for a year or two, that's normal. Film actors, on the other hand, always have to be "there", always on the red carpet, always present. I do not like that. I work very hard during a project, but when it's over, I like to take a break to live a normal life and just be a mother. I'm kind of a "crap celebrity", as a celebrity really not to use.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde: One more question about beauty: They were never dry, but always a bit curvy, which we thought was great. It was said that they loved cheeseburgers and did not do much sport. And then you have a hard-hitting diet and sports program with the well-known personal trainer David Kirsch pulled through. , ,

Liv Tyler: There was a time in my life when I was just married, had a baby, started a family, and I did not really want to concentrate on my body. But now that I'm a bit older, I enjoy being trained again. And I also enjoy eating - though I have to admit that it's not very often cheeseburgers. I like to run, swim, ride my bike. And I have a son! Every morning, when I make breakfast in the kitchen, he drives around with his tiny bike and forces me to drive on it. Have you ever tried that, on such a tiny thing? This is the hardest workout in the world!
