Let it snow! Make snowballs yourself

This tinkering had long been on my list. I have been looking forward to it for weeks, I love snow globes - always!

The big one has helped and now shakes what the stuff holds. And even the little brother can not get enough of it. As if mesmerized, he keeps marveling at the glasses - cute!

Make snowballs yourself:

You need:

  • empty glasses with screw cap. Good are large and small porridge.
  • small figures, animals, Christmas tree decorations or similar from plastic
  • Glitter / artificial snow / sequins or similar
  • distilled water
  • Hot glue gun
  • Geschenkband

Here we go:

Instructions: Make snow globes yourself

  1. Clean the jars well. Then glue the figures into the inside of the lid with the hot glue gun. When pressed, even small hands can help! And the bigger ones are allowed to press on the hot glue gun. For smaller figures, it is helpful to cover the lid of a pet bottle or similar. to use as a pedestal, then the figure comes out better.
  2. Add distilled water and glitter to the glasses. For heavier particles such as sequins or similar It may be helpful to add a few drops of baby oil to keep the "snow" from falling too fast.
  3. Now it's time to try it out. Carefully insert the lid with the figure, tighten and then check: is enough water included? Is the snow enough? Is he slow enough? If necessary, refill with water, glitter and / or baby oil.
  4. If everything is as desired, screw the lid tightly and seal it all around with a generous layer of the hot glue gun. Careful, from experience I can say that it burns easily here!
  5. Finally, wrap the lid and the "sealant" with a pretty gift ribbon or some raffia - ready!

Great as a small gift for an Advent invitation or perhaps as a thank you gift for the kindergarten teacher?
