Kanye West: Does he have a fight with Jay-Z?

Kanye West (41) is reportedly suing Roc-A-Fella Records, a hip-hop music label co-founded by Jay-Z (49) in 1995, and the EMI label. According to US media, citing court documents, the 41-year-old filed the two lawsuits on Friday, allegedly demanding the rapper money. The court should also clarify what rights he has from his contracts, they say.

The US celebrity newspaper "TMZ" reports on the lawsuits, claiming West to have signed a contract with EMI in 2003, a year before he made his breakthrough with The College Dropout. By the end of 2011, West alone or together with other artists wants to have written more than 200 songs and have transferred the rights to these songs to EMI, it continues accordingly. Apparently, there is a dispute that is probably about money, the report said.

According to TMZ, Jay-Z sold its shares in Roc-A-Fella back in 2004 and is no longer involved in the company. An insider explained that the lawsuits are by no means about Jay-Z and there is no dispute between the two artists.
