Who bakes the best apple pie? We asked this question in our recipe competition: We asked you, dear readers, to send us your best apple pie recipe.
The ChroniquesDuVasteMonde cake experts had a lot to look at: over 100 apple pie recipes were sent in or entered directly into our recipe database.
15 apple pie made it into the second round - they were nachgebacken in the experimental kitchen. During the tasting, the jury distributed notes for the appearance and taste of the individual cakes. From the individual reviews we ended up with the average - and determined the winning recipe.
1st place: Heavenly apple cake with rum raisins and marzipan
Here's the name of the program: Nicole Neijts' heavenly apple pie from Beek en Donk in the Netherlands put the competition in the spotlight. Was it because of the rum raisins that the jury was really drunk with happiness?
