Is this the safest cot in the world?

James Spencer was 22 years old when he became a dad. As with all parents, sleeping was a big issue right from the start. James and his daughter were not satisfied with the usual cradles and cots, and in the marriage bed, the parents feared that something might happen to the child.

So the American invented something that did not exist before: A baby bed that adapts to the body like a hammock while being safe and healthy for the little body.

He has called his product "Crescent Womb" and now wants to launch it with the help of a Kickstarter campaign.

Safe and secure as in the womb

"Crescent Womb has been designed to make it easier for the baby to move from the womb into the world," explains James. The soft material clings to the baby, it rocks easily and should feel almost as secure as in the arms of the parents.

Protection from Sudden Infant Death?

At the same time, "Crescent Womb" is absolutely safe. The fabric is breathable and flexible and always keeps the child in a healthy position, no matter how it turns. Thus, the risks for sudden infant death would be minimized, according to the inventor, who advised physicians on the development of the product. There are no dangerous hooks or cushions that could endanger the child.

"With Crescent Womb, I did not just want to improve the child's sleep and safety, but his overall health and development," James says in his Kickstarter video.

So be the ergonomic bed too good for the development of the body of the newbornbecause it is in its natural position. Because the spine has the shape of a long C-curve at birth and stretches only gradually. If it is stretched too much in the beginning, it can disturb the development.

Another advantage: Due to the cot, it is not so typical of the deformations of the baby's head. Because many babies, lying flat on a firm mattress, develop a flat back of the head, which disappears only slowly. The flexible mat, however, adapt to the shape of the head.

Reliable companion when traveling

It is also very practical that the lightweight cot can be installed almost anywhere. So the baby does not have to get used to other beds, but sleep everywhere in his usual environment.

Is the child really safe?

The crib has already gone through all the tests of the American Consumer Product Safety Commission, so it can be assumed that the brackets are fixed and newborns do not fall out. It is recommended up to a body weight of 11 kilograms.

Now "Crescent Womb" only has to come onto the market? and it looks good! The kickstart campaign has already raised over $ 90,000? 60,000 more than the project needed. All parents who were allowed to test the crib were enthusiastic and did not use anything else.

Pre-orders are already possible

For $ 125, the beds can be pre-ordered? so far only about the US. But we are sure that the clever product of the young student will find his way to Germany!
