"In Love, Barack": These letters Obama wrote? but not to Michelle

In Barack Obama is obviously not just a politician, but also a poet: At university days, the later US President wrote flaming love letters? but not to his future wife Michelle.

My concern for you is as far as the air, my trust in you as deep as the sea, my love lush and abundant

The law student dedicated his love-pregnant lines to his former girlfriend Alexandra McNear. His oaths end with "In love, Barack", The texts have now been published by Emory University in Atlanta. Why the letters are available at the university is unknown, reports Spiegel Online. However, a professor would soon publish her own book about it.

Accordingly, Obama wrote the letters between 1982 and 1984. At that time, he and McNeal had a long distance relationship after meeting each other at LA College. The later president initially studied political science at Columbia University, then law at the elite Harvard University in the late 1980s. There he met his current wife Michelle.

"Decision to take a different path"

In his letters from a young age, Barack writes not only about his exuberant feelings. The Nobel Peace Prize laureate moved philosophical and political questions even then. "Without a class, a structure or a tradition that supports me, the decision to take a different path is in a way made for me," muses the 56-year-old at the time.

"Decisions" keep the young student busy again and again, as he describes in his texts. A quarter of a century later, should the American people decide? and elect Obama as US President.

In one of the earliest letters, Barack Obama wrote: "I trust you know that I miss you, that my concern for you is as wide as the air, my confidence in you as deep as the sea, my love rich and plentiful."
