Happy or not? The End of "Sex and the City"

Carrie, please no happy ending!

So we do not misunderstand: I love happy ends. I looked at the smooch-end version of "Pride and Prejudice" more than the whole movie. But "Sex and the City" with a happy ending? This goes too far! Really: I grant Carrie Bradshaw all the luck in the world, as much as my good friend Mirjam. BUT THAT CAN NOT CAUSE ME CARRIE! A happy ending in the film is one thing: we are allowed to look at the last page of a picture book for a moment - but a picture book naturally consists of a fair amount of surface. With honest luck that usually has little to do. Courage, strength, sincerity, balance - fiber for a happy but not necessarily happy ending. I really love "Sex and the City" so that I can watch it when it's over. Quit Mr. Big, Quit Aidan. Stop the piss politician. And again with Mr. Big. I do not need a romantic romance. What I want to see is: It does not matter how much shit you experience! What does not kill us brings us a pair of frustrated shoes - and most of the time a character much taller than before. A dose of "Sex and the City" on a single-Sunday afternoon hungover in every way - and suddenly I know again that I have to make myself happy. Carrie has much, much, much, much more courage, strength, sincerity, and balance than Lizzy, even in her slouchy clothes and eyes, when she kisses Mr. Darcy. Please, dear Carrie, please, dear Hollywood God: Do not let it end like that! Do not gel the luck with too much ruffling and rumbling. Then I can not see it anymore. In the movie trailer, Carrie reads from a storybook. "And Cinderella and the Prince lived happily ever after." Your child-friendly comment: "You know, that does not always happen in real life!" Just Carrie. Please stay as you are. Please do not end the happy ending. Then I would be happy!

Carrie, please say yes!

Yeah, I hear the die-hard "Sex and the City" community shouting when Hollywood's harmony addicted kitsch craze prevails and crowns the long-awaited movie for the most popular women's series with a happy ending. The smart, casual and top-notch critics will exclaim, "Oh no, that was just fun - the never-ending quest for Mr. Right, who's been part of Carrie's first season," Mr. Big "was called.

Such a "happily ever after" ending would contradict the steady serial message that the only reliable value, the unshakeable foundations in New York jungle thicket between Manolo Blahniks, Chanel flags, scene hotspots and of course heaps of men is true women's friendship. To these women, I bravely respond to Charlotte's tireless faith in good faith: "Of course, the fabulous Four's friendship is the best thing a woman can do in life, which is why we missed the New Yorkers so much because we did The feeling was that our friends had been away too long, and finally we have a date with you again. "

And now comes the jumping happy-end-demanding point: For my best friend, I wish me but also the man man, who fucking gives her the yes-word. Why should not Carrie swear allegiance to her John (we heard at the end of season 6 that's what Mr. Big says)? And no, I'm not a transfigured romantic, who thinks that eternal love is like a constant first bite in a sugar-sweet cupcake. But it is not a betrayal of women's friendship to yearn for a sense of security with a man's well-manicured hand.

However, I have to confess that the trailer for the movie is anything but my desired wedding finale in Vivienne Westwood robe. Our favorite columnist herself says to Charlotte's adorable adoptive daughter, "They lived happily ever after until the end of the day, you know, that's not how it happens in real life, I think you should know that." What does that mean? Is Mr. Big getting cold feet? Are Carrie freezing her toes? I just remain optimistic and I hope that these doubts will also be elegantly dispelled with the friendly assistance of Charlotte, Miranda and the good Samantha - on the way to my and Carrie's Happy End.
