Felix Neureuther: On Sunday he is one last time in the start house

Felix Neureuther (34, "On the piste, get set, go!") Wants to compete one last time and then it's over with a great sports career. As the successful ski racer himself announced on Instagram, he will "stand in the start house for the last time on Sunday, look down the slopes, breathe in deeply, feel the adrenaline rush and drive my last slalom goals with a huge smile".

Several times thanked the son of Christian Neureuther (69) and Rosi Mittermaier (68) also with his fans. Among other things, he wrote, "Thanks for an incredible time, for all the thumbs you have pressed for me, the joy, tears and laughter that you have shared with me over the years!"

"Skiing was my life"

Neureuther was allowed to live out his childhood dream "to the fullest", for which he was "so infinitely grateful". His heart and body told him that it was time for a retreat. He always wanted to look back on his time as a winter sports enthusiast, but now he wants to open a new chapter. But he does not want to say farewell to the sport, as he already announces: "Skiing was my life and will remain so in the future." What that means, fans will know soon
