I eat. That will not surprise you. But I'm eating right now, the moment I sit in front of the computer and type. Every few minutes, I tuck a small handful of trail mix into my mouth. I do not even look, finally I do something else, important: I write. Almonds, cashews, walnuts and raisins are crushed into a sticky porridge, while nut crumbs disappear into the keyboard and I rub them in by tapping. I swallow and I am happy. That was a good mix: lots of nuts.

Outsmart the conscience

Nothing is better than eating by the way. It's delicious and also efficient, after all, you do two things at the same time. It is crucial that the priority activity is really important and requires high concentration. Only in this way is the conscience to be outsmarted.

Because it is also clear, eating by the way is unhealthy and makes you fat. Psychologically and physiologically, this is explainable: The brain is distracted during food intake and continues to send hunger signals to the body. The gets constant supply and packs everything fine on the hip. I do not care at the moment, I do not notice, because I am completely absorbed in the important task.



But even less important activities are ideal for casual dining. For then, when in them concentration-must pair with boredom. For example, when driving on the highway. Here, the by-food is actually a prerequisite to be able to concentrate on the whole boring journey.

Snack bags in the passenger seat

At least five bags of snacks should be in the passenger seat: biscuits, gums, chocolate, sour chips and chips. In my experience, that's the optimal mix. I buy these things at the gas station. Although expensive, but is one of them. Just do not plan too much. So I stop at longer car trips at the nearest gas station. Buy everything I would never leave in the supermarket near my shopping cart. Then off in the car, just tear up all the bags, could otherwise be dangerous, and put a water bottle within reach.

From time to time it is necessary to drink something, whenever a light nausea begins. Then continue. Wonderful. It is becoming increasingly difficult to define exactly what is stuck in your teeth. It's not important either - sip water and continue eating. I have to concentrate, after all, I drive a car.



Nothing works without privacy

Now we come to the most important point of the by-meal: the basic conditions. By the way, food needs privacy. Car, sofa, desk. It does not work so well on the street. For example, during the lunch break, if you are worried about something in the city quickly. The occasion is perfect: errands are always important. And the sandwich with three layers a dream. Would not it be the public.

I try to create privacy by strictly looking down, biting off, chewing, swallowing and waiting for a few more seconds before raising my eyes again. I keep going. It will be difficult if I climb with the bun in the subway. There is no privacy in a well-filled train. So I have the school trip reflex: "Do you want to bite?" After all, it does not belong to someone to eat something.

But I also do not want the man to bite into my bread opposite ... Looking away is not, everywhere lurk glances and mouths. Maybe subway driving just is not important enough to describe the food as incidental. Then it becomes the main thing again and - yes, now again apply all these healthy-easy-bio-behavior rules. That's a pity.
