Downsides: Women's Popos look so different

When it comes to your own body, many women are far too critical. The waist could be narrower, the décolleté more lush and the popo tighter. Especially their downside brings many to despair. No wonder, models and advertising campaigns always want to suggest to you what the supposedly perfect bottom part looks like.

Two women on a special mission

Emilie Mercier and Frédérique Marseille want to put an end to this nonsense. For a photo project they are looking for 1,001 nude popos: "1001 Fesses" is the action that celebrates the beauty of the female butt. If you want to participate, you can apply via the social channels. The photos are taken by the Canadians themselves in their studio. They currently present the finished pictures on their Instagram account - a large illustrated book is planned for the future.

How did the idea come about?

Emilie Mercier and Frédérique Marseille have known each other since they were 12 years old. Over the years, they have consciously perceived the changes in one's own body. They themselves were unsure whether their pos corresponded to the general "norm". In order to take away this uncertainty for themselves, but also for other women, they have started "1001 Fesses". "Maybe we'll finally realize how crazy it is to hate our own bodies, so maybe we'll just see how unique each woman is.", the two write on their blog.

By the way: Since its launch in 2014, the project has been funded by crowdfunding. Since then, a lot of butt have already been scanned - up to the number of 1,001 but still missing a few popos.
