David Garrett: That's how the star violinist spends the holidays

Behind David Garrett (38) is a busy year. The star violinist had to retire due to a back injury. Many concert dates have been canceled. All the more, he is looking forward to being able to get off to a good start again. In May 2019 he goes on his greatest album hits tour on his Greatest Hits tour for his 10th anniversary crossover. Before, it still means recharge the family. The 38-year-old spends the holidays in New York this year, as he reveals spot on news in the interview. That he will deny the celebration of love as a single, does not bother him.

How do you celebrate Christmas this year?

David Garrett: I'm flying back to New York on December 22nd - so my brother and his family organized a private Christmas party and invited the whole family. Of course I am here.

Are there certain traditions that you maintain year after year?

Garrett: Seeing the family is already the biggest tradition, preferably as many as possible in one place. After all, we are a little bit scattered around the world, so it is the best to be able to see them all at once. Everything else is spontaneous.

What must Christmas be on your menu?

Garrett: Mostly Christmas goose, red cabbage and dumplings.

For many singles, Christmas is a sentimental challenge, what about you?

Garrett: In my case, not at all. I'm just really looking forward to having my family around me for Christmas.

Do you wish a partner again?

Garrett: If the right one comes, certainly.

With the Christmas season also begins the final spurt for 2018, what is your personal record for the year?

Garrett: Very well - I certainly had a very strenuous year with physiotherapy, but in the end also an important year to recharge my creative energy. It was actually a very nice and very successful year, and in November we also ended the "Explosive Live" world tour with sold out shows in Mexico.

What do you want for 2019?

Garrett: For 2019, of course, I would like to have personal health, as well as my family and friends. And I'm also really looking forward to going on tour again in Germany with "Unlimited" in May and celebrating my crossover anniversary together with my fans here!

Do you have any plans for New Year's Eve?

Garrett: Not at all. I have not even thought about New Year's Eve, now comes Christmas!
