In an interview with Allure.com, hair stylist Liz Cook (and namesake of the hair color) reveals that the special hair color is caused by balayage highlights that emphasize the face and bring some brightness into very dark shades of brown. "It's the highlights that make hair color different from other shades of brown," she explains. According to the expert, the traditional brown is more natural and more ashy, while this spring season is mainly about vibrant and saturated hair colors.
