Theories on the name
British media want to have a touch of Hollywood glamor in Archie's name, as Duchess Meghan was an actress from Los Angeles before her Royal life. Archie (Archibald) Leach is therefore the bourgeois name of acting legend Cary Grant. "Harrison" could be a reference to Hollywood star Harrison Ford. At the same time it would also be a modification of the name of Prince Harry and would roughly mean "Harry's son".
Bold and courageous
The name "Archibald", however, comes from the Scottish and has its roots in Old High German (Erchbald). The third syllable of the name "soon" comes from the English "bold" and means "bold". A source of the British royal family wants to have reported the "Hello", however, that Meghan and Harry allegedly did not have much thought and just liked the name.
