What makes a beautiful penis? This question was asked by researchers from the University Children's Hospital Zurich 105 women aged 16 to 45 as part of a scientific study - and showed them images of 20 different penises, operated on and non-operated.
The doctors wanted to find out what factors are important to women with a penis. Specifically, it was about the appearance after the surgical procedure in a hypospadias, a congenital malformation of the urethra. The urethra opening is not on, but below the glans. Hypospadias is one of the most common malformations on the penis. In some cases it goes hand in hand with a curvature of the penile shaft. In Europe and the US, a hypospadias is usually corrected during the first year of life. In adulthood, operated men apparently often fear that women might find their penis unsightly.
An unfounded concern: Few of the women surveyed could tell the difference between operated and non-operated penises. The small slit at the top of the glans has almost no importance in assessing the appearance. The circumference and length of the penis hardly play a role. The "theater, the men always because of the length make" the women even annoying, the nursing physician Norma Ruppen-Greeff told the "look".
Much more important is a cultivated overall impression, summarize the physicians their findings in the "Journal of Sexual Medicine" together. The women were therefore mainly on skin and pubic hair.
