Spike Lee: Will the Oscar winner be sued?

He has just won an Oscar, but apparently there is less good news for the "BlacKkKlansman" director Spike Lee (61). According to the US gossip portal "TMZ" he has to deal with a lawsuit alleging that a song from his 1996 film "Girl 6" was copied by another artist.

The singer Prince and Spike Lee, who died in 2016, had teamed up for the project, and Prince contributed the title song to the soundtrack, according to the US celebrity newspaper. "TMZ", citing court records, further claims that the artist James Brandon wanted to record a song in 1993 that came to Spike Lee. The play by Prince is said to have similarities with this song, so the accusation. With the complaint, Brandon apparently wants to get involved in the proceeds of the song.
