Princess Beatrice: She was bullied so hard

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have a hard time. Wherever they appear, there's always talk about their looks, their weight or their outfits.

I've experienced growing up in public, in a very watched environment. That was everything, from weight problems at 18 to the choice of your clothes. If everyone says you look ridiculous, you need a sense of humor.

So frankly, Princess Beatrice, 30, sister of Princess Eugenie and older daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, spoke at the Web Summit conference in Lisbon about her hard-living experiences of bullying.

One of the sad highlights of the review: The nasty mockery on the Internet and in the media about the outfits of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie on the wedding of Prince William and Duchess Kate in April 2011. For the fancy hats it hailed evil jokes and malice.

The hat of Princess Beatrice was called "deer antler" and "pretzel", many Internet users made it a joke, the sisters with supposedly funny photo montages to mimic.

This time, according to Princess Beatrice, had been "a great challenge". In her words, the Queen's granddaughter wants to encourage other sufferers. What helped her a lot back then, according to Princess Beatrice, was the support of her mother, who had to endure difficult situations again and again:

I have two role models, my mother and my grandmother. They are both impressive women. I think it's hugely important to have female role models and I am very happy to be related to two such wonderful women.
