In Hamburg, a prostitute is apparently murdered by a serial offender. An SOKO is being formed, headed by Karin (Anja Kling), an ambitious detective. Karin gets the opportunity to work with the well-known profiler Hans Denning (Peter Simonischek). Even though Denning is laughed at by many because of his somewhat weird working methods, Karin takes him seriously and becomes his protégé. Then another murder is committed in Hamburg. This time, information has leaked to the press.
