Johnny Depp: "Pirates of the Caribbean" series will probably continue without him

The rumors seem to be confirmed: Disney is planning a remake of "Pirates of the Caribbean", but without Johnny Depp (55). This is reported by the British "Daily Mail". The sheet spoke on the sidelines of a Hollywood event starring Stuart Beattie, 46, who had written the script of the "Pirates of the Caribbean," the first part of the franchise.

Asked if Depp would not again play the role of Captain Jack Sparrow, Beattie nodded in agreement and said, "I think he had a great run so far, obviously he has internalized the character and it is the character for whom he is best known, "said Beattie. "Children around the world love him in this character and I think it was great for him and us," the 46-year-old continued. He would be the first to publicly confirm the rumors that have come up in the past few days.

New edition with "Deadpool" writers

Previously, the US industry journal "Deadline" reported that the authors Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick met with Disney to talk about the script. The duo wrote, among other things, the books for the "Deadpool" movies and "Zombieland".

Johnny Depp played the jolly pirate Captain Jack Sparrow in all five parts of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series and was even nominated for an Oscar in 2004. Most recently Depp was featured in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge" in 2017.
