Harvey Weinstein: Court drops first allegation of abuse

Harvey Weinstein, 66, is still being investigated for sexual assault and alleged abuse. But on Thursday, the fallen film producer could only breathe again in court. The New York Procuratorate has dropped one of three charges against the 66-year-old.

The allegations of Lucia Evans, Weinstein had forced her to oral sex in 2004, could not withstand the tests of the Grand Jury. This reports, among other things, the newspaper "USA Today". Accordingly, the court has doubts about the statements of the plaintiff. There are some discrepancies in them. Lucia Evans was one of the first women to come out in the fall of last year with her serious allegations.

Uncertain outcome

It's just a small triumph for Harvey Weinstein. Two further charges relating to 2006 and 2013 incidents continue to hold. As in the criminal proceedings against the filmmaker continues to proceed, there are so far no reports. The 66-year-old is currently on bail. He denies all allegations of non-consensual intercourse and pleads in all cases not guilty.
