Game of Thrones: "Poldark" star Josh Whitehouse is in the prequel

Droplet wise more and more details about the cast of the "Game of Thrones" come out. Only yesterday it was announced that Naomi Watts (50, "Mulholland Drive") will play an important role in the pilot to the planned offshoot of the hit series. Now, Josh Whitehouse (28, "Poldark") seems to have been cast as the first male lead role. Among other things, this is reported by the US branch "Entertainment Weekly".

What role Whitehouse will play is still unclear. However, the title "The Long Night" seems already to be established. That's what author George R.R. Martin (70), who provided the book templates for "Game of Thrones" with "The Song of Ice and Fire", revealed on his page "georgerrmartin.com". The station HBO has not officially confirmed this.

That's what the prequel is all about

The new story will also play in the Westeros universe, but several thousand years before the events of "Game of Thrones". As in the original series, many scenes and characters will be the focus of the plot. In addition, the "Age of Heroes" mentioned by Martin in his book "The Song of Ice and Fire" should be shown, which, according to the novel, took place 10,000 years before Jon Snow and Co.

The new series is to describe the descent of the world from the golden age of heroes into their darkest hour. In addition, Martin revealed that some other prequels are in development. The eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" will air in 2019.
