Forum donations for flood victims: Users collect about 5000 Euro

Water and no end: The pictures from the flood regions in Germany are staggering. House and belongings of many people are lost. ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com community user bunt_Kuh no longer wanted to sit helplessly in front of the TV, but help. She was spontaneously committed to the victims of the flood and invented the fundraising campaign "We build a virtual dyke". There she "sells" drawn sandbags against donations for the flood victims.

The campaign is a complete success: the sacks are in high demand and just under a week after the start of the campaign almost 5,000 euros have already been collected. In the interview, "bunte_Kuh" tells how the bag idea came about and how it goes on.

The ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Community Team also has a personal avatar drawing

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: Many people donate for the flood victims - but only a few make such a successful fundraiser on their feet. How did you get the idea for the action?

bunte_Kuh: The powerlessness of the people has shaken me. I wanted to do something to help these people. And how would that be better than with my neighbors from the virtual garden fence of BriCom?

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: And how did you come up with the idea of drawing sacks?

bunte_Kuh: Since the middle of february I draw some sacks, bags, bags and bags. Originally, I illustrated a strand in the BriCom Pavilion. This was a kind of finger exercise for me when I first started the "goblin"? or the "scumbag? have drawn.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: How long do you need on average for a donation bag?

bunte_Kuh: For a model from the existing collection, I need three minutes: I affix the drawing in the album on web.de and ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com each with a label on which the donor is noted? finished.

The individual drawings take longer; depending on how unusual the wishes of the donors are. But because I have some practice now, I can do the weirdest sack models in about half an hour.

All personal requests are fancy or funny, because everyone has their own preferences.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: "Individual" means: some users donate extra to order a personal drawing. Were there any unusual or funny requests?

bunte_Kuh: I love the model "Pepe and Puma", to which I have put together the photos of the pets of a user to a collage. But all personal requests are fancy or funny, because everyone has their own preferences - and I'm happy if I can implement these with a few lines.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: Would you have thought that the action would be so successful?

bunte_Kuh: I would not have dreamed that - I had a hundred sacks in the warehouse, I wanted to have ten euros each and have the action until 31.12. set to be able to donate even after the flood for the clearing work. All the more I was glad that the first thousand was so fast together.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: Many users in the community have meanwhile exchanged their avatar image for one of the donation sacks. What is it for a feeling to see that in some forums suddenly there is mostly to see your avatar pictures?

bunte_Kuh: Of course, I am pleased that my drawings arrive so well and are worn proudly by many users. But I also know that there are other users who the annoying "peer pressure" in the BriCom is annoying. However, the equation "sack avatar = generous donor" against "no bag = miser" in my opinion does not work. I know a lot of people who do more than me without hanging on to it. And I know a lot of people who are having a great time with the colorful sack avatars. Which of these is "more correct" now? I'm a bit undecided and understand both sides.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde.com: Almost 5,000 Euros are already here. Do you need a break from drawing slowly?

bunte_Kuh: I really hope that it continues! The fundraiser is open at the top and the more money comes together, the better. Other people are knitting, photographing or working in the garden - I make new motifs out of simple lines and colors. Drawing is my break.
