Donald Trump: He gives this absurd "tip" against forest fires

US President Donald Trump, 27, visited the fire-damaged Paradise in California on Saturday. After meeting the President of Finland one week earlier - after all, the most wooded country in Europe - he also had a tip on how the spread of the fire could have been prevented: "We have to take care of the soils forests. "

The Finnish president himself would have told him that the Finns would spend a lot of time "raking, cleaning and doing things". His logical conclusion: "And they have no problems." That this is complete nonsense, the local fire department quickly made clear. Climate change and extreme winds are the problem.

The Finnish president also disagreed with Trump's account of the conversation: On Sunday, an interview with him was published, in which Sauli Niinisto (70) states that he only told Trump on this subject that they were taking care of the forests in Finland.

Mockery and irony on the net

The Finns react to Trump's unworldly statement in the social networks: Many users explain on Twitter that Finland and California are not comparable in climate terms. That the country consists of 80 percent forest and it would be impossible to rake everything. That they pick up garbage, but nothing else. One writes: "I have never seen or heard anyone raking in the forest." But it is never too late! Others ironically posted pictures in which they cared with absurd seriousness about cleaning up their forests - for example with vacuum cleaners.
