Congratulations: The second Royal Baby is here!

England cheers, the wait is over: Prince William and Duchess Catherine have officially announced the birth of their second child.

George now has a little sister, who was delivered at 8:34 in St. Mary's Hospital. For the Queen, the baby is great-granddaughter number five.

And the opposition also cheers, at least in the form of Labor leader Ed Miliband:

Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess on the birth of their daughter. Wishing them lots of joy and happiness - and hopefully some sleep!

More information such as the child's first name does not yet exist - but the main thing is:

Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.

Britain stands upside down and even lets the currently overshadowing election campaign take a back seat for a moment. Let's hope that little George, the "Original Royal Baby", does not have to get jealous with so much excitement!
