Fitness bloggers are hyped on social media like celebrities. She shares her "progress" on the way to the supposedly perfect body every day on platforms like Instagram. Sophie Gray was one of them. The young woman's feed was full of photos of herself in sportswear, consisting of sports bra and leggings to better present her six-pack, and healthy food. But the brave blonde has had enough of being reduced to her looks and diet.

Sophie Gray: That's why she breaks up with her fitness blog

The young woman admits that as a young girl she was dissatisfied with herself and her body. That was one reason why they wanted to develop the "perfect" body and thus increase their self-confidence. In the Instagram community, she was well received, last had over 430,000 followers. This gave her the courage to go on and on, pushing on and on.

But she did not make happy this development. She grew older and realized that sport and super-food alone could not make her happy in the long run. Under one of her past pictures she writes:

You will no longer see pictures of my body on Instagram for a reason. Having a six-pack and thigh gaps does not make you happy. Pizza and cookies are delicious. And I am so sorry that women are told that they have to be something other than happy.

This step took a lot of courage and overcoming. For who wants to earn money as a blogger on the net, followers are a kind of currency. Who now believes that Sophie's fans would have to welcome this step, is wrong. The statement of the young woman is admirable - but her followers seem to see it differently. Within months, she lost over 70,000 followers.

I do not know how to communicate this. I know there is always judgment online, but with this there will be confusion. While @WayofGray is only four years old today marks the nine year anniversary? this is really about. @WayofGray started as a fitness page. If you have been through my feed over the last year, you would have noticed a shift. The shift involves a whole lot of vulnerability, curse words and an obsession to accept who you are. Within this evolution, I have uncovered my work through this channel is really for. @WayofGray is for the girl, nine years ago, who touched a skin to the first time. It's for the girl who felt like it was paining out of control and had it through self harm. It's for the girl who looked at the mirror and just saw what she thought she painted. It? S for the girl who didn? T want to exist in her body and her life anymore. It's for the girl who cries herself to sleep and carves permanently into her body. It's for me. But, @WayofGray is so for you. It? S for you if you have ever, even for a split second, wanted to be someone else. It? S for you if you've ever wanted to be prettier, smarter, or more successful. It? S for you if you have ever just wanted to be less. It's for all of us. But, today I wanted to take a second to acknowledge. So, thank you, younger @wayofgray. Thank you for having the courage you did. Thank you for choosing to keep on living, even through the pain. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
