Markle claims the Duchess of Sussex is suffering from her new life. As a member of the royal family, in his opinion, "too much pressure" on her, which she would not cope with. "I've seen her smile for years, I know her smile", said the 73-year-old. What he now sees from his daughter through the media is just a "tortured smile". He is sure, "that she is afraid".

He says: "They are no less human than anyone else, and I pity them for not being able to express emotions."
