Now it is time to say goodbye to a popular investigator figure, because "Bella Block" leaves the television stage. With the broadcast of the 38th episode today Saturday (24.3., 20:15 clock, ZDF) ends the crime series after 24 years. Since 1994, actress Hannelore Hoger (75, "The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum") as Commissioner Block solved her cases.

The last case, titled "On the Abyss" leads the investigator into a swamp of corruption and abuse of office in the ranks of the Hamburg judiciary. The film begins with a meal, to the prosecutor Klaus Dieter Mehlhorn (Hansjürgen Hürrig, 73) invites Bella Block shortly before his retirement. He needs her help in a last, explosive case.

But there are already "some offers of different varieties". Because one thing she does not want to do is to "sit and knit at home" - she has to get used to it again.

She is looking forward to a bit more "freedom and more free time", says Hoger. For what? "Whether it's an exhibition or whatever, or someone's birthday, I can not even go to the funerals, and there, I think, it's going to be critical," she says.
