Baby with Down syndrome: "I felt from the beginning that something was different"

As soon as Amber was pregnant, she had the feeling that she had to deal with Down's syndrome.

Amber and Fernando Rojas have already had a twin pregnancy and two more. Therefore, the two wanted to tackle this differently. "Because this was my fourth and final pregnancy and my fifth baby, born in any way, I wanted to be surprised," says Amber. Therefore, the couple decided together to wait until the birth with the announcement of the baby gender.

But something felt different from the beginning.

And when Amadeus Reign Rojas was born in February, Amber saw that her daughter has Down syndrome. Even before it was confirmed by a doctor. Although there were no signs of it during pregnancy, the expectant mother's intuition was right: "I did not know why and what, but I told my husband that this baby would be different, my pregnancy was no different, but it was something."

Five minutes after Amber was in the birthing tub, Amadeus arrived. A very special moment that this mother shares so with the world:

Sweet Amadeus is in surgery right now. She wants to be in surgery with her heart stopped for 4-6 ...

"The next thing I can remember is my sweet baby in my arms and so many feelings. And when I looked down, I saw it. I saw it in my baby's face. I thought to myself ... my baby has Down syndrome. "

Only then did the midwife point out some down syndrome markers.

We all did not care, we are all very fond of them and all their chromosomes.

Ami, as the family calls her affectionately, had to stay in hospital for another five days after a heart surgery. Now she is finally at home. The whole family is now working on Down Syndrome to give their daughter the love and support she needs. "At the end of the day she's our baby and we her family, she's perfect for us, we do not see her diagnosis or a label, we see Amadeus Reign Rojas."
