Yoga for the eyes is good for the soul as well

Our favorite sport can also be transferred to the eyes. This mini-yoga program for the eyes takes only a few minutes, individual elements can even be built in between in everyday life. As with other eye exercises, this does not change anything about a defective vision (this is associated with the lens, the cornea and, for example, the length of the eye). But the exercises are great for relaxing your gaze and preventing tired eyes.

In addition, yogis say, calm your thoughts, expand your perspective, and enhance your introspection. Because whenever we deal intensively with something, we come to rest and think for a few seconds at nothing else.

Yoga for the eyes - the mini program:

1. Sit on a chair, straighten your back, lower your shoulders. Close your eyes. Feel the soles of the feet on the ground - and breathe. Inhale through the nose for four seconds, exhale for eight seconds - at this rate, for a few breaths. Loosen the jaw while the tongue touches the palate.

2. Open eyes slightly. When inhaling - without moving your head - very far to the left, thinking about the left shoulder, look and exhale over the right shoulder. 10 times.

3. Now while inhaling - again without moving your head - far to the right, thinking about the right shoulder, look and exhale over the left shoulder. 10 times.

4. Open your eyes. When inhaling - the head remains motionless - look very far up and as you exhale as far as possible your eyes roll down as if you were looking at your navel. 10 times.

5. Now make diagonal movements with the eyes. As you inhale, look to the left as far as possible, exhale, and look to the bottom right. 10 times. Then, when breathing in, look to the top right and exhale to the bottom left. 10 times.

6. Finally, rub your palms together and cover your eyes with your flat hands for a few seconds. This is called "palming" and should give the eyes fresh energy.

The third eye: Many yogis look (with their eyes closed) in meditation on the area between the brows - the third eye. It feels a bit like strabismus, but it's supposed to improve your intuition.
