Why consumer coupons are pointless
I think nothing of such an action. It is completely crazy to give everyone just 500 euros. Why should a Mr. Ackermann get that? Or me as an entrepreneur? I do not need them, I do not want them. But to select recipients by payroll - that would be an even greater bureaucracy ...
Regardless: I can only hope that it does not come to that, because I find this idea absolutely unprofessional. The effect of the vouchers would not justify such a measure, in my opinion. If that's the only recipe for what's happening to politics in this crisis, then I'm getting really scared. If I think of the insane interest rates alone, which would bring the additional government debt.
I expect other proposals from a federal government. For example, a reduction in VAT. The state would then have less revenue, but people will actually have some of it with every purchase, and the bureaucracy would probably be even lower.
Consumption vouchers can only be a straw fire: 500 euros are spent so fast - and what is in half a year? Instead, the government should develop plans for sustainable solutions and focus on public investment, such as renovating schools, expanding kindergartens, recruiting more teachers and, above all, promoting the development of alternative energy. This creates jobs and brings money to the coffers.
