Why can not I still sell my fund shares?

AOn the advice of my bank, I bought shares in an open-ended real estate fund for EUR 10 000 a year and a half ago. Recently, I have read several times that these funds z. B. could come under pressure because of Brexit because some are heavily involved in the UK real estate market. When I was about to sell the fund, the bank's adviser told me that I could only sell part of the fund in half a year. Why then?

Helma Sick answers: Initially, shares in open-ended real estate funds acquired after 22 July 2013 are subject to a two-year minimum holding period. So in half a year, you can sell all the shares you bought a year and a half ago. What many do not know: This minimum holding period also applies to the distributions that have been reinvested in the fund. For example, if, for example, you received a distribution in August 2016 for which new fund units were purchased, you will not be able to sell these new units until August 2018.
