'Underneath We Are Women' - this honest photo project celebrates the woman's body

Be honest: how many times a day do you look at yourself in the mirror and wish that your stomach is flatter, your legs longer, or your breasts bigger? How often do you come out of the door with so many self-doubts that with each look you make, you wonder if that person is just seeing your supposed blemish? Certainly more often than you were aware of, right?

But did you ever think that these "blemishes" came to your mind? make you what you are? Exactly this idea, the Australian photographer Amy Herman tries to visualize with a very special photo book. Under the title 'Underneath We Are Women' she shows women of all ages and skin colors, thin and curvy, big and small. But they all have one thing in common: They wear nothing but underwear and feel comfortable in their skin!

"I did not think this project would be life-changing for some women"

However, moving in front of the camera so naturally was not easy for them, as Hermann told the Daily Mail. Very few people find it easy to undress and present their bodies to the public without the protection of subsequent retouching. But in the end, these women were full of self-confidence, which was wonderful for the photographer to observe.

"We turned on the music and let the women do it, so we got a picture of their true personality, and I did not think this project would be life-changing for some women," Hermann told Daily Mail.

That's why the photo project is so dear to her heart. It should help women and girls to finally accept themselves as they are and to love themselves again. On a Kickstarter site, she collects donations with which she wants to have the book printed, so that as a positive inspiration, she gives the women the courage they deserve.
